What You Need to Know about Moving and Relocating to Panama City Beach
Whether you are choosing to move here permanently or simply as a second home, the Panama City Beach area is the ideal location for a year-round vacation destination. Here’s what you need to know about moving and relocating to the Panama City Beach area.
Understand that for 8 to 10 months out of the year, Panama City Beach is a relatively quiet destination. We are a ‘spring break location’ so during spring and early summer it can get extremely crowded. This area is perfect for retirees, those just starting out, or as a perfect second home destination. The workforce in Panama City Beach creates a vibrant environment and the City Council encourages businesses and startup companies to invest wisely in this area.
Active military? Naval Support Activity Panama City was the winner of the 2013 CNIC Installation Excellence Award. Nearby Panama City has received numerous nominations from the Secretary of Defense. The area supports its military with a thriving community and military-based personnel.
The Weather
It is Florida, so naturally, everybody wants to know about the weather. As with most areas we do cool down between December and February with highs topping out at about 65° and lows in the mid-50s. Our hottest months are June through September with highs around 90 and lows in the lower to mid-70s. We have a total population of about 171,000 residents with about 70,000 total households. Our sugary sandy beaches are produced from quartz crystals washing down from the Appalachian Mountains centuries ago. This provides a gorgeous backdrop for our year-round and vacation residents.
Events
We have events year-round from Seabreeze Jazz festivals in spring to Marathon runs in December and dozens of events all year long. Our Chamber of Commerce has an active social calendar so make sure you check with the website or check back here for special events and activities.
